A picture I took on the 17th hole of my golf course. The view is stunning and the course is so peaceful to play on in the late afternoons.
I cannot believe how busy I have been these past couple of weeks before summer comes to a close. Now that I am on the golf team, my schedule and focus are really getting locked in. Nothing makes the days go faster than a busy schedule. On Wednesday, it was non-stop and I was so overwhelmed I had to write down my to-do list so that I wouldn't forget to do anything (and there are still things I have to do from that list!). I got up in a rush because I had to finish tutoring homework before my session that night (procrastinating= bad idea). After I finished that I had just enough time to make a lunch consisting of pancakes (this time I mashed in blueberries and coconut milk for a better consistency and taste!) before heading over to the highschool. I had to try on and receive my orchestra uniform and my brother's, run upstairs and buy books, and set up my locker within an hour. From there I sprinted to my golf bus and headed to my first golf match of the season, which was a lot of fun! By the time I got back I literally had to scarf down my dinner before rushing out the door to make my 9 pm tutoring session. By the way, who puts a tutoring session at 9 pm at night?! Who can even concentrate at 9 pm? But, anyways I started driving there at 8:55 and the tutor is at least 15 minutes away. I sped there in a record 8 minutes without breaking any laws (well, mostly). By the time I got back home at 10:15 I was wiped and fell into a heavy sleep for 11 hours. I haven't slept that much since...well Greece, actually. On Thursday, I felt relief that I didn't have a busy schedule, but I ended up spending the whole day finishing summer work and getting to bed early because I had to wake up at 6 am for freshman orientation...
Okay maybe the title is a little cheesy, but today I wanted to talk about skin. It's something I really haven't spent much time discussing on the blog, but I should because I am obsessed with skin. Maybe it's because my Mom is a dermatologist, but it could also just be that anything that overwhelms me becomes my obsession in life (like food now?).
It's funny when coincidences happen. Except that I've come to realize they aren't really coincidences. Rather it is us connecting to an underlying energy we are all a part of. Every thing, all of the matter we see, when reduced to its simplest form is all the same. The same energy connected to one universe. I always knew this, but yet I only recently grasped a deeper understanding when I picked up my aunt's book called the Secret. (It's a simple read and you can skip around instead of reading front to back).
I thought it was some mystery novel with the cover, but she said, "Go ahead and take it and read it. It's really helping me alter my perspective on life." I thought perfect, just what I am always looking to read about! It was about midnight by the time I got back to the apartment and I was getting ragged on to go to bed, but I couldn't help peeking at one page at least. Of course I open up to the page about "the secret to eating" (my obsession in case you haven't noticed). And the words in the text were interesting...
Let's talk well-being, travel, fitness, whatever comes to mind! And while we're at it, I'll throw in a few tidbits about my own life and philosophies. There is an infinite amount of scientific health, mind, and wellness topics to explore!
