With Spring well on its way, I wanted to take today's post to talk about ways to refresh and revitalize one's life during this time of rebirth in nature. Below I have discussed a few of my ideas for you to de-clutter, de-stress, and truly enjoy one of the best seasons of the year.
Okay, it might be a little late, but I felt like reflecting on some things that I am thankful for in my life right now. Also I wanted to share how I spent my thanksgiving because it was a super awesome meal and vacation this year!
Sorry for my long absence, but I have been without a personal computer for almost a month! I know, crazy to think a teenager could stray away from technology for that long. Don't worry I still had my iPhone (and a couple funny stories coming about it later). I don't even know where to begin with my summer! So much has happened and I know I tell myself each year that "this summer is the best", but truly I think that this summer is my best. Maybe each summer experience is not necessarily better, but unique for the different travels we do and stages I am at during those times. Anyways, today I wanted to relay my past few weeks, so brace yourself and click read more!
I went to the Sting concert last night and it was amazing! Such a talented artist. Plus, a great way to start my summer with family and friends.
I cannot believe it is summer! Time goes by so fast! It has been over a year since I wrote my first journal entry in this blog and I feel that since that time so much has changed. Not only my blog format and the type of articles that I have been writing more recently, but I've also just matured as a person. In college essays when they ask you to describe yourself, it is so hard because I am always changing. One day I love something and the next day I could do without it. I believe it is because as adolescents we are growing into our environment at this rapid and conscious pace, so so much of our beliefs are influenced by others. Today I didn't have anything specific in mind to write about so I just wanted to make it short (as possible as that is for me) and diverse as I can!
I don't even know where to begin. This trip encompasses many words: thrilling, risky, and adventurous don't even begin to describe it. I'm sure you are on the edge of your seat by now wondering what this trip was? Well to be honest, I didn't even know any of the details until we landed in San Diego and packed up our suitcases into an RV. Destination? Baja, Mexico.
This will be short and sweet. I cannot believe it has been more than two weeks since my trip to San Francisco. It is amazing how fast the months fly by. Before I know it, November will be over and winter will be on its way. I have a scary feeling about our winter in Chicago this year. No snow last year= problemo this year. I mean I wouldn't mind getting more school off...
The Bay Bridge is cooler than the Golden Gate in my opinion. It was constructed in the 1930s and is almost 30,000 feet long (yes, almost 5 mi!) It also has 2 stories-- each story has 4 lanes for cars.
This past weekend, my father and I headed to San Francisco to check out some colleges and enjoy the West coast. It was my first official trip with my Dad only and it was a great experience. We caught San Fran at a perfect time when the weather is absolutely gorgeous (an Indian Summer, as some call it) and my body agreed positively to the 2 hour time difference. So now I'll take you on a journey through my own journey this past weekend and all the activities we engaged in!
I have to say I absolutely love Fall. I think it is a beautiful season and the crisp weather is invigorating to the soul. I love driving down my street and seeing the leaves glowing with red and yellow hues. Life has been pretty busy as usual, but I have been trying to incorporate some relax time into my days. I think it is really important to get outside, breathe in some fresh air, and just be present. Sometimes I feel best when I am sharing this with others, but some days I feel most productive and refreshed when I go on an outing all alone. I think it is really important for us to cultivate the ability to enjoy life on our own that way when we spend it with others we can enhance the atmosphere. There is a huge difference between being alone and feeling lonely: Sometimes we feel lonely when we are in a room full of people. Getting rid of this loneliness can all be boiled down to what we bring to our environment and our outlook on life...
