I am so thankful it is break. This first semester has been extremely busy, but at the same time I cannot believe how fast it has passed. We had our first party of the holidays last night and as usual it was full of laughs and seeing faces I don't get to see nearly enough during the rest of our active year. These events always remind me of the best parts of life-- getting a rest to just smile and not think about tomorrow!
Speaking of tomorrow, though, I am so looking forward to it being the 24th! I have waited for this day to cook up my biggest feast EVER! I cannot wait to post pictures and recipes. Some things on the menu include a grass-fed roast, home-made cranberry sauce, roasted brussel sprouts and squash (of course!), steamed broccoli for my dad, paleo stuffing, and for dessert-- well that's just a surprise for now!! It's going to be delicious and I am genuinely excited to spend the whole day cooking.
Along with the cooking and eating (I am a foodie, you know!), here are some other things I am cherishing this season...
Ruby colored nails
Walks in the crisp, breezy air
Sunday mornings with my father
The Christmas Waltz By Peggy Lee
Drinking tea with my friends in our basement
Our yearly tradition of going to Winter Wonderland
The frosty layer of pure white snow softening the ground
Watching the stars alone outside in complete darkness at night
The warm, oven-cooked, stomach filling meals made with motherly love
Lots of Love
